Just an FYI on what I've managed to do in my sleep last night

I had pretty good success cleaning some pretty clogged injectors using WD40 and Brakleen (quality name-brand stuff, it's under higher pressure than the generic crap). The little plastic straw that comes with those products JUST fits down inside the injectors, allowing them to build pressure. I was then able to alternate shooting WD40 and brakleen in till I got a good spray pattern with the brakleen, then finished it off w/ an air hose. Pretty cool.

Unfortunately, I have not yet managed to figure out if that's solved the problem; I don't seem to be generating enough pressure with my fuel pump to even open the injectors. I need to clean the electrical contacts, as noted. I also need to try soaking the FI dist. in acetone, since it appears that #4 is not even getting fuel.

Persistence and sleep are my best allies. Unfortunately, I need to force myself to stop playing with it, as I've got a race this weekend I need to get ready for!

I also need to figure out how to vacuum out a bunch of garbage from the bottom of the fuel tank without using a vacuum.

remove any fuel line to the engine, remove the pumps or at least the intank pump

run a garden hose or pressure washer through the fuel gauge sender hole and flush the tank with water. Then air dry with compressed air/ leaf blower, shop vac.

If you can use a steam cleaner the heat generated self dries the tank to a greater extent. Maybe trialer it up and take it to a semi truck detail place. Usually they have steam cleaners.

make one, a vaccuum that is. get used 5 gallon bucket with a tight fittng lid from fast food stores cost like 1 dollar. silicne 2 barbs onto the lid that will be used for attaching vaccuum line or fuel line to( threaded hollow tubing and nut and washers might work.) connect 1 line to intake manifold of a running car, the other line gets sent down the gas tank filler neck . the vaccuum of the running car will draw a vaccuum on the 5 gallon bucket and that will suck up the gas , could even put cheap universal fuel filter in the line to catch the trash , can be used to siphon oil out of the engine or trans fluid out of the trans.
