Have you investigated replacing the two upper oem rubber fuel lines to the rail? I replaced mine on the 944 Turbo, since there's a Lindsey Racing kit out there. I replaced them on my '88 924S track car, but, the 'kit' I found, the hoses were a tad short. Had to bend the firewall metal fuel lines a bit to get the hoses to reach their intended target. I want to replace them on my '88 SE, but looking for a more user friendly kit. Dave.

I was thinking of just making my own since I have tube benders and flaring tools that I used to make my turbo fuel lines. I also saw a sign outside the local advance auto that said they made custom hydraulic hoses... so I may go see about that!

A while back I was going to do a 'How-to' on replacing the 924S fuel lines, but I never got around to it. Here is a picture I was going to use that shows the differences between the late hoses and the 924S hoses. These cars are bizarre since they use the late rail but enter the engine bay like the early lines. This makes their hoses a lot longer than both. I've personally never seen a kit that works, but like Rasta mentioned; I've heard that Travis at Rennbay will make you a set that is long enough.

I hope that helps!

Fwiw: I would NOT want to install the Rennbay lines without a set of crow's feet.

Strange how after a modded high power 924 most guys want a stock 924

Thanks, I had actually forgotten how much fun they are in stock form. Its like being 20 years old again and driving mine for the first time. The original owner drove it every day and took extremely good care of it. So its showing some age, but who wants a car that has sat around? I'm just going to give it a sponge bath an rock it in its natural patina.

They're little wrench heads that attach to your socket wrench so that you can get to hoses and other things that are in tight spots...

When attached to an extension they look sorta like 'crows feet'. Here's a video demonstration.

A friend snapped this picture of me before leaving for a 50 mile trip. The car did great! The oil pressure stayed at 4 bar while the temperature sat at the first mark while driving.

Afterwards I started cleaning the car up and trying to fix some things. There are a number of things that don't work like the heater blower and cruise control. The sunroof and trunk release also didn't work but I traced them back to a blown fuse. Gotta love that!

I gave the car a bath and started cutting the oxidization off. It was dark when I finished and began raining today, so I'll post a picture of the finished product later this week.

Here's the products that I use. To remove oxidization you need a product that states on the bottle that it can remove 1500 grit sand paper scratches. Other products might remove the oxidization but won't polish as high as this system. Using NXT wax afterwards gives you an amazing finish. NXT polishes like a glaze, so don't bother glazing. When using a glaze you must use a pure wax which will not protect as well as NXT or any other finishing sealant. Never use a cleaner wax with this system or it will dull your paint down.

I hope that helps!

Thanks, I enjoy sharing it! There was a small break in the weather this afternoon so I brought it around for a few pics.

Last night I fixed a small oil leak coming from the cork gasket on the back of the cam tower, and then cleaned up the interior.

This afternoon, the title came in and I went out and took some pics.

The interior is really nice, despite the shifter leather. There are the usual dashboard cracks but nothing I can't live with. The seats have iggee seat covers on them. I haven't been brave enough to look under them, yet but they look decent. When the time comes I have a perfect set of black script seats in the shop.

The paint looks amazing! The previous owner says that he has the black trim piece somewhere...

I'm surprised at how fast these '88 models seem even after driving my turbocharged 924S for years. This thing absolutely scoots! I hope to add a SE to the collection one day. GLWS!

Thanks, Nick! I'm very pleased with the results. A lot of people would've just cut the paint with 3M finesse-it (basically step 1) and applied a cleaner wax. I'll be bringing this car to the Atlanta meet, which I'm sure isn't too far away!

I'll have to double my efforts so I can get my car out there too.

This afternoon, I cleaned the windows and fixed a subwoofer that was in the trunk making noise. I just needed to increase the gauge of the wiring to the amp and it works great now!

I also fixed a front sidemarker that wasn't working. It was rusty and the bulb was broken off in there, so I just swapped the whole thing with a spare left over from deleting mine on the turbo.

Afterwards I decided to track down why my blower motor wasn't working. I started by checking the fuse because that was all that was wrong with the sunroof. I then pulled the relay and bench tested it. Basically doing everything that I can to avoid peeling up that gooey shroud to test the resistor. I pulled the switch from the dash to test it and it was fine, so nothing left to but pop the hood and get it over with, but as soon as I shine the light in the shroud I can clearly see that the motor is unplugged. I plug it in and it works perfectly.
