So my car is up and running. Not tuned yet and the vaccuum system needs to be finished but otherwise she's good. I have a small problem though, there is a bad rattling sound coming from the POV on the turbo. The unit was rebuilt before it was installed and I personally put the new urathane gasket on the sides of the POV. Anyone have ideas what this could be ? There really isn't much inside it...
Thanks,

How's that little rubber elbow doing these days? If there's a vacuum leak, the piston might rattle, not held in place. Or, I'm backwards on that theory, can't remember! _________________ '83 944 Track car.

924.org has a write-up on fixing this...it involves putting a link in the spring so there's less clearance between the coils and the bore of the valve. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Grenadiers I think you nailed it. The vaccuum system isnt fully assembled they tell me. Its what is left for me to finish (and some new wiring harnesses...
On the plus side, motor is in and runs.

@Rasta, I've read the garage guide that you put the link to, thank you, I however just don't understand how doing as the guide instructs will help. I have the piston and spring in front of me. My POV had a nasty rattle as others have mentioned so decided to take a crack at it.
My spring was actually slightly longer than the one the guide link mentions, so no need to stretch mine, But I just can't see how if I bend the one side of the spring, (where it ends), outwards on the piston side and inwards on the guide side that this would solve the annoying rattle. I'm thinking the rattle would have to come from the play between the bore of the piston with the spring, but how would one fix that? Or is bending the end coil sufficient to counter the play between the bore as well?
Sorry if the problem is actually a lack of reading on my side, but most of the posts on the forum tend to just send the link without further explanation.
