My 1988 S has central locking which I assume is factory fitted, as I have the big Porsche dongle key fob too.
Lately when locking the car, the passenger side doesn't lock at the same time and now it frequently locks but won't unlock from either side! The key won't turn at all, it feels like it's going to snap against the actuator. Likewise, climbing elegantly through the rear hatch, I can't pull the pins up either from the inside. The only solution is to pull the bonnet release and put the battery leads on/off a couple of times.
I haven't had any luck searching here or online for info on the 924S central locking system and was wondering if anyone else had dealt with it before? I'd happily disable it altogether but if it's just as simple to fix it...

I would start by looking at the relays in the control unit (there is a relay for locking & one for unlocking) and the switches on the locks.
It sounds like the "locking" relay is stuck or one of the switches on the locks is stuck in lock mode. |
