I am rebuilding the G31 from my 937 and have run into the much discussed problem of finding a dog teeth set for the second gear.
Troy from EBS tells me that they are nowhere to be found and he really knows what is going on.
We have looked at the option of 930 items and these do not have matching tooth counts.
As a result I am investigation the option of getting a batch manufactured because I need to get my car sorted.
Would anyone else be interested in getting any of these if I can get them produced to the standard that I will accept for my car?

When i took my G31 apart to fix an oil leak in 2012 i bought 1st dogring from CMS just o have it fresh while i was there, not sure they make them anymore.

Im not sure if the UK guys have any other source of parts, ive seen some of them getting their boxes rebuilt.

one point that may be of interest is the lubricant specification for the G31 gearbox. Reading some of the threads from a while ago, there was much discussion about GL4 oils.
I have the owners handbook that came with my 937 and that specifies Hypoid gear oil to API spec GL5 or Mil-L 2105B

That's just misinformation/confusion from some people, every manual and document i have states GL5 for the G31.

The guy rebuilding our boxes in the UK doesn't supply parts. If you need a synchro or seal, then that's relatively easy from Porsche. I was lucky to be reuse my 1st and 2nd, just. Nearly went to Shark Motorsport. €250ea and circa 8 week lead time iirc.

I might be interested, wouldn't mind a full 1-5 straight cut (presume that means dog) gear set, even better if it's close ratio.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the 915 has swappable 3rd-5th gears with the G31, haven't done any digging yet but i guess someone somewhere make them.

Who in the UK is the guy for building our boxes as haven't found anyone? Shark Motorsport is a good find BTW.

Hi All,
I am pleased to say that Catellus, CMS and Shark all replied to my request for parts and could supply the dog teeth.
At the same time, EBS came back to let me know that they had also found the parts. I will get from EBS as they have been a supplier for more than 25 years and I will be able to consolidate the part into a shipment of assorted bits that I need.

I currently have both my G31 box apart and a 915 awaiting a rebuild. I will take a close look at the two boxes and see what might be interchangeable between them. I am interested in this myself.
Please be patient on the feedback as I do have quite a few things on the go right now.
