Yeah there are flaws...
Forgot to tuck the carpet back in the passengers door sill..
FP relay jumper laying there..
Licence plate wires still hanging..
Yellow battery overflow hose hanging that I haven't trimmed yet because it's too expensive to mess up and want to be sure before I do..
Exhaust still sticks out too far and needs rearmost mounts still..
Lots yet to do..
No I really didn't put that much effort into washing it..
Got it wet/wrinced, water dawn dish soap and a towel in a bucket, windex'd inside and out of windows and mirrors, and windex'd the rest of the car too to get rid of water spots, then hand toweled the whole car for a while to get rid of the water spots because the windex failed...
Probably the cleanest this car will ever be for a long long time, and has ever been in my posession, it wont last but a couple days because of the dust from living on a dirt road and the car lives practically under a sun/rain shade..
I just wanted to see what it looked like clean, the paint scuffed and foggy, big flakes missing off the hood, scuffed all up around the engine compartment from working on it, dents, dings, scratches, chips...
Really it looks better than I thought it would..
No rust.. Good enough... _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified

It looks very good with those wheels. That interior is also a great looking option! Nice car. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

You've got that derilect 931 looking good Eddie.
You probably shouldn't put the hatch prop stick off to one side. Twisting of the hatch from pushing up on one side is a contributor to the frame separation problem. |

You're right, I didn't think of that.. I used to put it on the spare tire but that's gone now up in the rafters...

The wheels have certainly grown on me.. I think my dash speaker cover to be gauge cluster looks a bit out of place, I wonder if I could color it brass ish somehow or redo it in a sheet of brass instead of stainless to match the tan/brown better..

That's before I knew how much I'd love it, good thing I didn't realize how much work it was going to be, parting probably would have been the rational thing to do but I'm not rational when it come to things like this..
I'm probably in it about $2k and hundreds of hours as is and don't regret it one bit.. If you count 924board.org time make that 1k hours + easy..
Excellent use of my free time IMO..
Thank you all for the positive comments.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

Why is it "tedious crap to get pics on this forum.."...
you simply click the IMG button, then paste the link to the pic and then click the IMG button again.
Which button click is difficult? _________________ MOD

Take them with cell phone..
Email them to myself in batches because they fail if there are too many..
Download onto my computer and make files for specific batches of pics so I can tell them apart by there file extensions..
Upload to photobucket which sucks with all its video ads..
Go through photobucket dealing with the ads that take massive ram/data to get the URL links of the photos 1 at a time loading a new page with new ads for every photo..
Paste all URL links to 924board.org post and then try to decipher which is which when you have many and cant see them just there codes..
Thats Tedious..
I have charter 60 meg and photobucket is still slow and makes my AMD A10 8 core machine run its fans..
Maybe I should explore a different "hosting" avenu, I don't know what to try, I don't facebook, instigram, twitter, or social media at all so I'm not up on such nonsense..
And my GF's android phone sucks too, I shut my Iphone off a year ago because I don't like to be expected to answer a phone at any idiots whim..
Maybe there is an easier way?
alt + p makes [img][/img] easier than the button but they come tagged up good to go from photobucket anyway.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

Use the photobucket app for the cell phone. Photobucket website sucks monkey butt, but the mobile app actually works. _________________ Stefan

I use my google account and google images... I can upload it straight from my phone if needed to. No ads and works pretty seamlessly. _________________ '78 924 N/A |

I did some clamping and glueing some old floppy things..
And see how clean the brake fluid reservoir is... Total brake system flush done recently too while installing my 4 pot front calipers, yes rear too I said total.. Clamped and glues both sides of the firewall rubber stuff..
Clamped and glued the center console carpet siding flat again..
All gluing done with leftover permatex ultra black.. Love that stuff..
And put on some new vinyl decals.. Stahlwille is pretty much the German Snap-On equivalent if you don't know..
I suppose a pic of my newly engineered an installed permanent CIS tester can go here too.. It is also beautiful IMO..

Is that pressure gauge mounted? If left loose the vibration may cause the lines to fatigue & break in the line or the soldered joints. |
