I have the rear way up in the air eyeballing a shift bushing job + while I'm in there stuff..

As you all can probably tell by now my mind works in strange ways and I ended up measuring the torque it takes to slip the G31 LSD (to get the wheels move opposite) in 1st gear..

After a crows foot formula to rectify for the distance from the lugs to centerline of the axle (which didn't make much difference) It comes out to about 60 ft/lbs it takes to make it slip, or 65 ft/lbs on an outside lug inline with the tool.. Seems low?

I just thought it was an interesting thing to quantify about an interesting piece that I haven't seen done before...

I suppose it could be compared to others for wear and/or different oil characteristics and their effect on the clutches.. 70k miles and redline MT90 full synth here..

Sorry if I'm too out of the box for you guys, I don't mean to just fill the board with stupid crap but I get bored..

Maybe... It feels like nobody ever installed a 2nd gear synchro, no grind in 1st but I get like a block out where it won't go in sometimes and tricks me..

I got MT90 because many here recommended it.. Read some 911 guys say synth is too slippery and they prefer dino.. I have a bunch of cheap 75-90 napa dino on hand I could switch in and give a try...

You think I should give it a shot?

MT90 requires use of a friction modifier for a clutch type LSD.

Could you point me to a recommended product? Would said friction modifier have any effect on syncros?

P.S. Per FSM, breakaway torque for G31 LSD is 25 to 43 ft lb.

I get the same with my 931 G31, sometimes it just wont go in first. No crunch, just its like the gear is locked and cant be engaged. I figured its either a clutch problem or a linkage problem.
