My power windows recently just stopped working. No warning, just quit. According to my books, the fuse is #8 on the auxiliary box, but nothing is wired to that spot. All other fuses are good and everything connected works. Now, before, I could not operate the passenger side from the driver's side. Now, of course, none of my switches work. I've been trying to track the wires, but man its crazy under there! Any ideas?

Mine has a relay clipped to the side of the HVAC box on the drivers side. I found it floating around that area. I may have read something about some of the relays like this having a fuse on the relay itself.

Most of the time its the switches themselves, start there.

All the switches are fine. It has to be a relay or fuse. What does that relay by the HVAC box look like? It is on the fuse panel side or console side?

relay dangling from a few wires under the dash in the drivers footwell area to the right side (LHD), I think its meant to clip to the left side of the heater box but falls off and may get stuffed up there somewhere. It may not be the same in your car. Relay is about 1" cube plus its plug IIRC.

All the relay does is provide power to the windows with the accessory/key. If you jump the relay your windows will work all the time regardless of key position.

Pull one of your window switches and see if you have power to them from the female plugs that come out of the door. With the key on. If you have power there the relay is good. My relay was fried.

These window switches are evil, I have pulled and reworked mine at least 3 times. Always getting different results but never 100% satisfactory.

Well, cleaned the window switches and only a click when i hit the switch. Surely both of my motors didn't go out. Something is really off. The switch points are worn, so I will order new switches. What is the best way to test the motor without pulling it out? Can I hook it to the battery and see if it works or is that too much current?
