Interesting, a number for a track day? That could be construed as a speed competition instead of an instructional event.
but yeah, ouchy.
I don't think Statefarm got them out of that one.

Yep, there's always one. Too bad. I'm sure the owner is upset.
They put the numbers on the car for untimed events to assist the corner workers and the safety crew in case there is a mechanical issue or something dangerous going on.
Yelling over the radio "Hey, did you see that yellow cayman it looks like his front right wheel is loose" just doesn't work as well or as quickly as "Control, black flag, car 532, yellow cayman, loose right front wheel..." |
