Huge suprise,

I have a '77 with a hole where the battery tray should be. Trying to restore the car to oem specs. Anybody help me out?

That's for a late 944. Different style. Can be done but its not a direct fit.

My body shop said they can just make me one. What brackets do I need in there to make it like the orginal?

This is the front one:

This is the back:

They will have to weld in bolts from the back. 2 small ones for the back bracket and one larger one for the front. You obviously will need all of this ahead of time so you can lay everything out.

I would recommend applying a coat of POR-15 (or some epoxy resin) to seal everything up after welding.
