hi 924/931 people, happy new year to all. i had a nice drive in the 931 today. drove the 996 GT3 yesterday and was no more fun than today, I love the 931! It is just so analog and fun at safe road speed.
I drove a 356 recently, and IMHO the 931 brings the same DNA......

Funny but prior to the drive, I had to fix the drivers window switch first (just needed to clean some gunk off the contacts), and re-seat the control unit, but then it was on!

Ok, paint:
Car is black from germany. Going with two-tone, period correct:

1. white top, red bottom
2. white top, silver bottom
3. silver top, black bottom
4. white top, light blue bottom

I like silver and black or white and blue...of course red and white look awesome too hard decision.
But if its black, i'd keep it black + silver.

But what was its original color scheme?

(W6W6 minervablau metallic or U2U2 hellblau metallic)

Hmmm… period correct and a fun factor?
Why so serious? No. 4! “Die schlümpfe”
Too bad the non metallic blue of that era is kinda boring imho
Kind regards. Harm.

My 1979 931 was originally gray and silver. I bought paint by just looking at a chip and selected Cassis black cherry, a Porsche color. It was pale tan in the morning , orchid midday and brown in the evening. Last year the car was painted Forest Green Metallic and it looks good.

Pick a color you like for you will have to live with it. Enjoy it as time is getting short.

Solid or two tone?
Are you going to paint straight over the black or prime it white first?

Solid.
I am having a good pro well known local painter do it. He'll do whatever needs to be done.
I am not spending the money to do all the proper color change stuff (engine bay, door jambs, etc), but because the all the interior and the orig exterior color are all black it shouldn't look that bad...

2. above/w no stripe
3. speed yellow
4. turquoise blue
5. Murano green
6. GT silver

thx for playing. love this car so fun to drive!

Canyon blaster
For me, if choice is available and you don't want / need originality,
White with martini racing colours.
A winner on any porsche
