Well we made it there and back. Lets start with that as well as the fact that the weather was great, and I had a fun time.

The 924, well it gave some problems that we were working on correcting all weekend. But it looks like we need to run a leak down and compression test. It ran like a top all the way down to the track, the 5 hours without a hiccup, I thought I was home free and ready for the weekend to begin.

Friday was just for the Instructors and real fast guys. I worked the pit out and got to see a lot of neat stuff. Everything from a Panamera 4 to GT3's, 356's, 912's and a 924S all out pounding around.

When Saturday came, the car passed tech without a problem. I took it back to the paddock to wait my time out. My time comes around and I get my instructor and out we go. Everything feels good, but after the first lap the car starts to cough and sputter going through the toe of the boot. Fearing the worst, my instructor and I park the car. Two laps in not a good start to the weekend. I start pulling plugs, thinking I may have a fouled one. Sure enough Number one is wet. All the others are good, with a good burn. So I dry off the plug, use some brake cleaner on it, and throw it back in.

Second run comes, I pick up my instructor and go out. Car feels good. All the power is back, no stumbling. I get about 4 laps in and it starts again, most notably in the toe going up the straight. This is where I need the power most, it is steep uphill. I continue iuntil I really can't drive around the problem (two laps or so from the end). Pull it in and let it cool off and swap the number 1 plug thinking it is just done. Last run and same thing. I get most of the way through the session but finally pack it in early. I don't want to hurt the car. It has to get me home.

At night, the passenger window falls out of the track. Not a big deal, but annoying none the less. I stop throw some injection cleaner in the gas tank, put 20 dollars in on top and hope Sunday is a better day
Sunday morning. I decide to pull the injector. I give it knock, spray some brake cleaner on it and put it back in. My fiancee was right in there lending a hand to get the o-ring out. While I was at it the hood release pull comes out. So I have to fix that, fix the injector and figure I might as well fix the window. I miss the first run. Take the car for a blast up and down the hills outside the track and it feels good. I think again I am home free.

Second run comes up. (video to follow) and the same thing happens. I get almost the whole run in. But still no good. I run the car in the third and final run of the day and pack it up. Drive it home (have to keep it above 3200rpm to keep it from stumbling. But we make it home. Now we have list of things to check.

1. Compression and leak down on the engine.
2. suspension (it sits a bit low on the back
3. Brakes, they still feel soft and spongy. (Scared the instructor but it let me keep the momentum up. )

Still I had a great time. I will post a couple pictures of my paddock area and the video soon.

Good work.

On the stumbling, that's more likely fuel delivery - check pump, etc. Fuel starving on a LH'er like that could well be even fuel level...

What brakes are you using, what pad? I strongly recommend KFP Golds, can get 'em from Paragon... Never had any problem with them anywhere, going faster than you likely were...

Thanks RACR. The stumbling was happening in both right and left handers. I tried to keep the car above 1/2 tank the whole weekend, which wasn't too hard due to the lack of running. We will see what the compression test says later this week. As for the brakes, Not sure what pads I am using on the front, probably stock pads though and rear drums. A couple of photos are below.

Still working on editing the video. The camera fell off the windshield 3/4 of the way through the run. lol.

Derp!

Yeah, call up Paragon and get some KFPs before you tackle the track again...

As for your stumble... if it's both directions, at those RPMs... go ahead and check compression and more importantly leakdown, but more likely sources of that problem are fuel or ignition.

Thanks Iain.

I still need to perform the tests on the engine. Then fix what ever is wrong and upgrade the brake lines to braided stainless steel. Then when we return to the track, i can start playing with tire pressures to see if we can get the Direzza's sticking better.
