Cut them behind the radiator mount, then make longitudinal cuts (think banana peel). Crunch cut ends together to make box section smaller, and tap on your new piece. When it's lined up, weld.

So you guys are suggesting cutting of whole frame rails?

No. Unpick the front end from the front of the chassis rails. I didn't cut the rails themselves on my 931. It went back on as if totally original. Photos in my threads linked in my signature.

Here is few pictures from today.I started taking front end apart.Removed headlights assembly, fenders, lower valance and some AC components.
I am trying to save as much weight as possible.
I repaired passenger side floor and welded in new/old seat brackets.
Not much but some progress.

You cut too much off each end of the 951 front end!! You should have joined on the inner wings where there is a factory seam.

951 panel in silver, stock panel is white

silver 951 front end grafted onto uncut & white chassis rails

full factory look using 951 front, rad and IC mountings plus super rare factory 931 bolt on badge panel

What struts will you run? What front arms will you run?
Late spindles means late struts, late struts mean late front arms unless you modify something.
