Pro-9 in Birmingham, UK ? They are the only place I can find that sells 924 front fenders in fiberglass. Not interested in 944 style. Also they seem to be WAAAAY cheaper for everything else than say ,GT-Racing. Like, way cheaper. Any ways I will probably be in the UK in March and if they are decent quality I was thinking of buying a complete car worth of fiberglass.

As far as I am aware Pro 9 don't make their wings. I think I'm right in that Club Autosport do or they both get them from a Birmingham'ish' maker. I think there is only one set of molds/maker in the UK
http://www.clubautosport.co.uk/GRP%20PRICES.htm
I hear from a racer that the wings take a bit of fettling to fit for a race car let alone for a road car. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

I think anything like that needs a fair bit of working to make it look right. I saw a 951 that belongs to a local Porsche shop owner here, and one of his mechanics told me to install the full GT-Racing fiberglass body and make it right took them roughly 200 shop hours. Crazy, but it did look GOOD. As long as the quality is there I don't mind paying to have it installed properly. Just don't want to spend my money on junk quality parts is all and that stuff is nearly 1/2 of what GT-Racing sells it for.
Be nice to shave another couple hundred pounds or so...

CCP Fabrication.
Contact Paul Kostopoulos there. He is a good guy and his fiberglass is pretty good quality from the limited stuff I've seen. He has a DProd(ish) kit that a few guys here have purchased with pretty good reviews.
Last I spoke with him (in November) he didn't have molds for the narrow body fenders, but if someone sent him a pair, I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to pop some out for you, and it would probably be cheaper than ordering from Europe / UK.
If you're serious about pursuing this, I have a pair of like-new fenders, and I would consider sharing the cost of shipping to get them to Paul to help the cause. It would be nice to have standard narrow body fenders available. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
