I own a 931 that has been in storage since November. I run it once a month to keep the
air conditioning system seals well lubricated. HERE'S MY PROBLEM....today, when I
started the motor, it started blowing out thick white smoke with a funny odor from the
exhaust. There was so much smoke that it filled up my garage and my whole back yard
as well as my neighbor's backyard. This has never happened before. I don't know what's
wrong, the engine appears to idle fine, but I didn't drive it. Any suggestions would be
appreciated. Thanks

this sounds like you have lost the seal on the turbo shaft. By not driving the car these KKK turbos tend to pass oil over time through the shaft seal. My Advice is to start the car check that all is functioning ( good oil pressure , not overheating etc) then DRIVE THE CAR! IF YOU ARE GOING TO STORE THE CAR THEN DO NOT START IT! This is the worst thing that anyone can do. If you would like to start the car then drive it for at least 5 miles ( to warm the oil burnoff contaminants etc) This would also burn off the oil in the turbo and clear up the smoking. I don't believe you have a headgaskit problem because you stated that the car idled perfectly. And if this was a headgaskit then the cylinders would be collecting water and would hydrolock. It is normal for these older KKK turbo after sitting for long periods for the shaft seal to leak oil into the turbo ( and might need to be rebuilt) the worst thing you can do to them is not to drive the car.
