I just changed the timing, balance, air conditioning, and power steering belts along with all the rollers. I now have a constant whining noise. Could this be caused by the balance shaft belt going over one of the toothless rollers? _________________ 1988 924S - everyday driver. |

No belt whine on a 2.5 is a bad sign. When you get used to hearing your engine before and after a belt re-tension you will come to know the correct whine. When the belt job gets alot of miles on it and she is getting loose the whine becomes barely audible. So be happy it is whining. _________________ 87 924s
