|
|
I had this video locked up for a while, but it's old enough now I feel like cutting it loose - at least for some.
This is in-car from a test day at our local track... some of you may remember many previous in-car from the #77 here; this should provide a bit of an eye-opener as to how much faster the DSR is. Includes data (which is why I had it locked previously). The speed isn't the greatest; I've gone faster since, and both aero and suspension have been radically improved. But this will give a good idea of how much work it is to stay on top of this beasty...

Yeah. Redline's at 12,500.
Note that these laps were turned with very little aero benefit, very little downforce effective at the time.
Likewise, you can see from how hard I'm having to work at the steering that the suspension wasn't working so great...
PS - that was turning a lap IIRC around 1:08 or 1:09... which is a full 10 second faster than I ever went in the #77. With a car that's still 8s or more off the pace! _________________ Vaughan Scott

Nice. Thought you were going to suck one of those FVs into the intake. Do they see you coming or are you on your own to pass them? (Not that you aren't on your own anyway as the passing car..., but do they have time to get out of the way arr arr) |

We'll never know - minimal flagging coverage on a test day. They still probably cringed a little, at least, when I went by. Neither was a regular; one rookie outright, one new to the track... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Saw 4 DSRs running this weekend at SCCA Majors at NJMP. Nice unpainted carbon fiber bodies with suzuki engines of course. Even with FA, FC and FE there, and running in the same group, the DSRs were the fastest cars of the weekend at 1:13 and change on the T-bolt course. That would have qualified them at the front of the Rolex DP field and certainly faster than anything else I've seen there, which includes an awful lot of cars. To put things in perspective, on a good day in the toofah, I'll turn a 1:38 on that course.
They were f-n FAST! And watch out Vaughan, I was talking to them and they told me they're coming to run in your neck o the woods.
These guys:
//...The shortened race left Garrett Kletjian’s D Sports Racing No. 01 George Dean Race Engines Stohr WF-1 Suzuki in the overall lead. Kletjian had passed the No. 79 Company Motorsport Swift 014a Formula Atlantic winner of Connor Burke on Lap 14. |

LOL... unfortunately, my season's already basically over, after popping yet another motor. I was at Mid-O this past weekend (for the SCCA Majors there).
Still have to find a replacement, but the schedule pretty much excludes a chance to still compete as I'd planned, against those guys. Will aim to get some testing and maybe a few local races in before the season's closed, but that's all... _________________ Vaughan Scott
