Hi All,
As some of you read before, there is one 931 running on MSD's 6AL2 ignition. Since that endavour, I polished the rims and send the car of to the paint shop to repaint some panels.
The rims were polished using the 'oven cleaner' method and sanding with 120 grid and subsequently with 600 and 1200 wet&dry. Finished off with machine polishing, first brown compound followed by blue.
Also overhauled the brakes and gave the calipers a fresh new paintjob... I think now its time to share some pics.
Enjoy...

Glad my dash isn't cracked, only minor cracks near the vents..LOL
Also repaired the seats, the usual stuff i.e. seams and torn patches...
Cheers,
Jasper |

Thanks for the nice words !!!
Runs like a charm. In the meantime I did tweak the ignition map so the boost region is more conservative, eliminated vacuum advance and use a slightly modified DITC full load spark map.
This resulted in a very nice driving car. Currently detailing the engine, cleaning AAV, decel valve, head, manifold, piping etc. (also checking them )
In all it goes like stink and now looks the parts, do however need to swap out the discs at the front since they are bend. But I managed to purchase a new set for only 69 euro's !!! person ordered the wrong ones for his std 924 and he had no return possibility..
But maybe you guys can help me with something, or actually I need your opinion.
I am considering putting Porsche stickers on the sides, what do you think about that...?
Cheers,
Jasper |

The car looks really really nice as is. Clean and understated. I'm not a big fan of too many stickers on a street car. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

black stickers on your 924 would look good...i'm not a fan of stickers..but i think yours would look good with them. Photoshop some stickers on to see if you like it.
Can you share what mods have you done to the DITC? _________________ https://www.the924.com |

I'd spend your money on some rear spacers over side decals _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

I agree on the NO side decals. The 931 shape is just too pretty all clean. However, one idea I am a fan of is a windshield banner:
P O R S C H E
Across the top of the windshield.
This guys is a good source in the USA:

maybe do something subtle like matte black with silver letters?
He can do alot of colors. _________________ PCA Licensed Club Racer & Driving Instructor, Current cars: 1981 931, 2005 996 GT3, 2013 Cayenne GTS |

A couple more thoughts:
1. Yes, you need rear wheel spacers, badly! Your rear wheels /tires are "tucked in" alot! Sorry but it looks like your car is missing the factory wheel spacers all 931's came with. I forget the size but you can probably get the correct size from H&R (10mm, 15mm, ?). Don't forget you will need longer hardware as well.
2. IMHO, you need a proper 931 steering wheel (or even a Momo) on that car. I think that steering wheel is a 924 N/A wheel.
I put a Momo Prototipo on my car. It is a great period correct and factory correct look. I really like it. I posted pics of my car a while back.
cheers! The only people that tell you its not a real Porsche are just idiots that don't get it. It is a really great sports car. _________________ PCA Licensed Club Racer & Driving Instructor, Current cars: 1981 931, 2005 996 GT3, 2013 Cayenne GTS |

So,
Little update, mounted some rear spacers (23mm) and removed the glue residue from the old decals. Must say, the clean look really does look nice...
About the steering wheel, I am trying to hunt down the three spoke one, but no succes so far....:S
Nice and tidy engine bay
