after going through some really difficult times personally...I am back to my hobby and working on 'ol number 99. have some catching up to do with some board members and follow up on some parts we had been discussing (dave). Anyway, here's old number 99 my '79 931 with factory CGT body parts. She's a really odd bird. euro spec/grey market car imported to the US in 1987 by a George Evans.
these are some older photos at the beginning of disassembly some years back.

lots of parts missing when I got her...calipers were missing, fuchs that were on her 8" front and 9" backs were missing. lots of engine parts missing. As of now I have the engine out and am preparing to have the engine conpartment painted. She has a very odd CGT hood scoop that I have never seen on either production cars or prototypes. Squared edges and high scoop. anyone ever see one like this??

Looks very similar to the one I bought from GT Racing or AIR, can't recall which company. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

Very cool. If you need any help with it let me know. I excell at looking at cars, discussing their problems, and drinking beer. _________________ 1982 931- Stock with MBC at 8psi

dave,
have any pictures of the one you had? The AIR scoops I've seen seem to have the curved opening at the top and the opening is set further back in the scoop. this one is squared at the top opening and the enterance is not set back....also, it has the studs for mounting molded in. I haven't seen one like this before.
regards,
Paul |

thanks dave, that one looks like one from GT racing. has the curved opening like the OE ones and flange on the outside. I've seen three different varieties....GT's with an outside flange, AIRs which appears to have an inside flange and I saw one availabl in the UK that is just the top patr with no inner scoop....oh, and mine which I have yet to see another like.
