hi, need some info about 931 front springs - anyone have one not in use?
full height when dissasembled, height on car under it's weight, coil diameter at bottom and top, if different, and spring rate. Is it the same as 924 NA?

That's essentially what I did. Cheap adjustable spring perch sleeves and top hat. 2.5" x 8" racing springs at 325lb (with 28mm rear torsion bars and KYB's) Though, I think the front rate is too much for my car at the moment as the front of the car is severely lightened and I'm running KYB's which generally suck.

I used this on the Weltmeister lowering springs that came on my car to come up with an approximate 220lb/in rate. _________________ Stefan

yep, the kit is OK, just 210$ with shipping and no fun with DYI is the solution for lazy people
and it not guarantees, that I would like how those springs will behave. as my car is a bit lighter than stock, I want to play around with several setups and see what's best for our roads and my weight _________________ Porsche 931 1980 widebody CS / no, stock again

Luckily those springs are pretty universal. You'll have to experiment with different spring rates to get the desired rate. 2.5" diameter springs are available in any number of locations.
Here's a list of stock spring rates used on the 924/944/968 chassis:

Check out rallydesign uk, cheapest coil over sleeve ive found, works great. I have 60N/mm springs up front and 28mm rear bars. Works perfectly, but its very easy to fine tune the balance with adjustable weltmeister swaybars:-) . Spring rate choicewill severely depend o weight distribution and tyre sizes/stiffness, in general, and ofcourse what your dampers can handle. These spring stiffnesses we are talking about are relatively soft compared to a race car, so we wont be near the upper limit.. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

the end result is this - a small cat size lowering kit with Audi 100 / A6 / C4 rear springs, which are 12cm at the top (fits original plates) and 33 cm heght, should be shorter than original ones. Will make even shorter, to have space for adjustment. as an option - OK. will try will see how ride will be.
