Sorry for asking once again abaut the same "baby brembo" upgrade, that there is plenty info about.
The thing is, I can not find the very simple upgrade description of swapping only calipers, not the whole set of disk and etc. What about only unbolting the old heavy calipers and putting small brembo ones from 968/s2? Will they fit, will offset be ok? Seen wilwood bolt-on option, but they look very similar to brembo ones _________________ Porsche 931 1980 widebody CS / no, stock again

Small Brembo (non MO30) are not exactly light......in fact weigh considerably more than 931 single piston calipers.
Notwithstanding that, on the rear, the calipers bolt straight up, although you will have to notch the backing plate, or better still remove it altogether!
On the front, the bolt hole spacing is different, so they won't bolt straight up. One way around this is to simply notch the holes in the caliper.....NOT recommended! These are your brakes after all!
I have seen (and done, in other iterations) the caliper holes completely filled up with a press fit plug (basically leaving an undrilled caliper) and then simply redrilling the caliper to 931 bolt pattern. Effective, safe and cheap.
I have also seen adaptors made, with back spacers, etc.
Alternatively use 944S2/968 spindles, etc. but the hub will need to be drilled for the speedo cable.
Suggest you use wider discs from 944S2/968 or 911 C2 on the front, but you will need longer wheel studs. _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |

Or you could buy this kit:

And get lighter, stiffer calipers that won't impact your unsprung weight and will provide good feedback at the limit (which is one of the main gains of the multi-piston caliper upgrades)
Or buy these adapters and mount Boxster front calipers to your 944 spindles and use turbo rear calipers so you can have the fancy Porsche lettering on your calipers.

For the street, a stock set of 5-lug 944 brakes with a good set of brake pads, braided stainless steel brake lines with good tires will outbrake most cars on the street. This is especially true as most drivers don't know how to use their brakes to their full extent.
Either way, do some calculations on the master cylinder sizes you have available so that you can maintain proper feel and brake balance.

Hope this helps. _________________ Stefan

Or you could be cheap like me...
I've put 4 piston volvo calipers on the front from the 240 series, they bolt straight up and are slightly lighter than the old single. You do have to sort some form of splitter for the brake lines as the Volvo has two lines go into it.
Have a search of the forum and you'll find the info.
