1977 924 fuel injected, just aquired, not running, no past info, sat a few years. Cleaned TB and intake, put in new fuel pump and filter, cheked proper operation of fuel pump relay. Getting fuel and spark to all four cyclinders. When cranking, get 1-2 pops then nothing. Plugs are very wet. Seams to be flooding out. Compression is 120 -125 on all four cylinder, cold. Dry out plugs and get same results. Seams that Fuel injectors are spraying a lot of fuel when I remove one and crank motor.

Any suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for a mapping of plug wires from distrinbutor to plugs to verify they are right.

Thanks

Get yourself a book on the Bosch K-jet injection system and a set of CIS testing gauges.

Read up and start testing, cleaning and repairing.

Eventually? Youll get it.

Hint: the fuel distributor control fuel flow to to the injectors and it is vacuum operated, they like to gum up internally and are of course sensitive to vacuum leaks.

Welcome to the board. Thanks for saving another 924!

Are you anywhere near Milwaukee?

Line up the cam like this:

Then pop the cap and see where the rotor is pointed. That's number 1. Firing order is 1 3 4 2 in a clockwise direction.

Your issue is most likely a gummed up fuel distributor. Continuing to spray fuel into the motor will quickly dilute your oil.

I have several things to check tommarow, thanks to your posts, and ordered a Haynes manual to start checking CIS.

Verified wires on correct plugs assuming #1 is closest to front of car and 4 is rear. Cleaned fuel distibutor, found center value gummy. Cleaned and re-assmebled, same problem, Pop pop then nothing, then flooded.

Orderd a K-jetronic test gauge(http://www.wescotools.com/p-1587-cis-k-jetronic-fuel-injection-tester-with-case-33865-by-tool-aid.aspx). Should know more by end of week.

Thanks for the tips! Those springs, washers and o-rings are a real treat when assembling the fuel distibutor plates back together!!

That's the correct tester.

Pulled my fuel disributor a part and o-rings are all shot. Anyone know where to get an o-ring kit or rebuild kit for the k jettronic PN 0 438 100 005?

Thanks

It might be worthwhile to check the timing belt alignment to verify that the crank-cam-distributor are set correctly - I have a simple procedure in the how-to section of this forum.

Some owners give up on the car because they can't get it to run after replacing the timing belt. If the plugs aren't firing at the right time, flooding will occur. Good luck. - Peter

..... so did you check the timing belt alignment per my previous post. The symptoms you describe may have nothing to do with the fuel distributor - if the plugs aren't firing in coordination with the valves, you'll experience flooding and poor running.
