The air conditioner control dial in my 1978 924 will not pull out to the 1st or 2nd position. I just bought the car and the previous owner said he recently replaced the condensor. I can turn the control to the right but no cold air comes out. Does this sound like I need to replace the control dial. _________________ 1978 924

Not when it's 95 degrees and 90% humidity, in a dark car with black leather. I know what a baked potatoe goes through. _________________ 1978 924

Ha! Yeah, I'm with ya'. Just giving you a hard time, I'm getting impatient waiting for the pics . The suspense is killing me.
I haven't studied too much on the AC, got mine to work, car runs like poop though, so I don't use it, I just drive real fast with my head out the window. I know the sliders are damn sure confusing. _________________ I got nothin'

The air conditioner rotary knob in the center console. Turn clockwise to increase cooling and pull out two positions to increase fan speed. The knob seams to be stuck and will not pull out to position one or two. Also, I am not getting cold air at all. I am wondering if because the knob will not pull out could it be shot and need to be replaced or is this a common problem that has an easy solution.
I will have one of my kids show me how to get pictures on here soon.
Thanks, Jack _________________ 1978 924

Hee hee. Sorry, on my 81, the knob is apparently different. Mine has an outer an an inner knob. One controls the temp and the other the fan speed.
Hopefully the compressor is running and maybe you can take the knob out and fiddle with it to get it working. _________________ I got nothin'

If anyone's needing a new compressor let me know. I have a brand new one in the box I would be willing to sell. _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |
