1980 924 NA. The good .. It has the factory 5 bolt setup. spoiler. mud flaps and rocker trim ( never understood why all the 924s did not come with the rocker trim..) . The bad .. has some body rust and a few dings. But .. the really bad.. transmission started getting very noisy in last few days. Anyone have any luck rebuilding one of these . Lucking for advice from those who know these cars the best. _________________ 1980 924 NA, M471

I'd consider rebuilding or swapping.
One big question will be where exactly the noise is from. I'm get under there and check it out. Is it diff, or trans, or CV's, or even torque tube?
As for the rebuild, nothing too special, except that setting up the proper preloads on the bearings/shafts can be rather a bit of work, and requires some tooling. I had mine done by a Porsche trans expert in the area here, but he doesn't really do commercial work, so not so helpful for you. _________________ Vaughan Scott
