I don't know much but it looks like you get 1 wide body, one narrow body, and a spare motor with a top mount intercooler for 5k asking? Not too shabby.

That appears to be one helluva deal. Sorry I can't lend any insight into the particular car though.

That's Jae's (J1NX3D) old car. It's been for sale for ages, and the price has gradually come down and down to the point where I think it's a great buy.

When Jae sold it had the head off and needed a rebuild, but the body was still good. If I had the money I'd buy it myself.

I've emailed Jae and asked him to give you more info on the history of the car.

Hi Jason,
I saw your little corrie for sale a while back... VERY cool...
I currently have my 924 listed as i NEED to go and throw some gravel round and my wife refuses to let me have 2 toys.
I have quite a high price on the listing (you never know!!) but i would definately talk turkey to have it end up with someone who was gonna look after her.
I haven't had it all that long, and she's a goodn BUT i really should have had some restraint and brought a rally car originally

looks a very good deal, now if the mk1 cortina had been a mk1 mexico escort or a mk1 3 litre capri (most parts are common to those two cars underneath, not the cortina and capri as most people think) then it would have been a tougher desicion.
good luck buddy.
2 turbo cars for $5000, has to be a no brainer if you have the room for both of them. On quick inspetion, looking at that cortina, you could have a multitude of horrors underneath, and parts might be hard to find, just be aware, if the 924 has a sunroof, the sills could be as bad as the cortinas footwells, really, really check with a magnet where the water drains from the roof.

hope this helps.

hi yes the turbo used to be mine

its an '80, imported from the UK in '89, presumably with the kit. It's a factory sunroof delete. It spent most of its life in Hamilton. I actually found a few old NZ classic cars magazines from the mid-90's that had a photo of it next to an E30 BMW in an ad for a german cars workshop.

the kit itself is very well done. the front and rear guards and the bonnet are fibreglass. the front bumper and valence is 944. Unfortunately I broke the CGT front when I had a low speed, high boost off on a wet corner. The damage was repaired and it looked like it had a front end repair before. Also evidence of rust repairs on the chassis rails (pobably from salt roads in the UK).

I had the turbo rebuilt while I had it and it was garaged after the HG blew. It was sold on as a going concern, my stepdad used the block to repair his 924 CGT track car and the track car and my old car were sold together.

It looks like hes done a lot of work to get it back on the road. The wheels are off my current 944, i kept the fuchs that were on the 924. Its a very fast and nimblecar. Its much faster than my 944 but lag was very noticeable. The brakes were great, all the electrics worked (mirrors, windows, demister, etc). the snailshell transaxle will need some attention. its very strong but it was hard work changing down into first.

Same guy bought an RX7 top mount i/c off me modifed to fit as well. unsure if that's included or hes put it on another car.

Excellent and thanks for some first hand insight,I found the photos of you crash etc trawling the internet with the plate number.I was saving to make you an offer in like 2006 but was made redundant and had to make some hard choices .
We are pretty committed at this point (After I sell this damn Cortina) and we just wanna dive in .... cause only dead fish follow the stream.
Thanks again!

Alright! Cortina is sold!,car went away surprisingly cheap but that's auction for you!.
Might sound crazy to some but the spare car it comes with will probably get scraped, ill hold onto scoop, intercooler and anything else I feel has usable value...We just don't have the space (and my partner the patience) for our shed to become a parts bay.
If anyone in New Zealand wants the WHOLE parts car for "cheap as bro" rates let me know!.else im just going to ring the car wreckers.
ex japan car ,non runner, missing windshield, striped for paint, rolling chassis needs vin,
One step closer!
