Yes its mine and yes, sad to say, I have tried very hard to get the weight down. The ironic thing is that despite several expensive hole cutters the weight taken out of the door only amounts to a few pounds.

Lots more came out of the rear bumper as the original rubber strip and the bits cut out weighed 12 pounds.

Yes, I'm a sad geezer but there you go!

Simon,
That 2 litre engine you're using, is it the NA head or the turbo-head and, if it's the NA head, have you made any mods to handle the extra boost/compression?
What happens if you have timing belt failure,
meaning, has it become an interference engine?
And have you beefed up the original (1980?) drivetrain?

If thats the original registration then its a '79

Nice car M8 i missed that 911&Porsche world, i started to go off it when people wrote in complaining that there weren't enough 911 in it like the title says Muppets

I understood that the torque tube should be enough the cope with that power as its the same one in the euro turbos (170bhp) and one of the GT's as well i think????

Very nice M8

Thanks for kind comments on the car, shame its over here in the UK as I often share drive it at events.

I would love to run the car in the US as the home of the widespread use of blowers.

Mind you I have had help from folk all over the world and in perticular NZ and Aus so I may need to make it a tour one day!!

The head is 924 turbo and is all std. It will cope with the boost with ease. The N/A head is a flat head with no real squish band. People who have tried to up the comp on that head seemed to have hit problems. Anyway the turbo head has better flow too so it was an obvious choice.

The rest of the motor is std and, touch wood, has not given any problems.
Belt failure should be no problem as the cam belt is std too and has no more work to do than on the normal turbo model. The supercharger belt, if it were to fail, also should cause no grief, beyond the obvious drop in power that is!!

Cheers
Simon
