Hi
after replacing the inlet manifold (removed to extract the broken engine mount studs), the engine now wont start, however it does turn over and the tacho works when cranking ?
I have removed the fuel pump relay, there is 12v to the to pin 30 (from battery), pin 15 is live with the ignition on, pin 31 is a good earth and pin 1 has continuity to the coil T1. When I jump pins 87 and 30 the pump does run.
So I suspected the relay - but should it start off the key with the terminals 87 and 30 jumped ?
If so what could i have disturbed ? |

Test 15 to 31 with a 12V test light.
Take a second look at the wires attached to the overboost switch, the cold start valve, and the thermo time sensor. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

If it ran before, if the relay is bad it should start if you've "jumpered" the pump power circuit to run the pump all the time, (look at the relay, it should be printed or embossed on there)? If that does the trick, then probably the relay has gone walkabout.
If that doesnt work, something else was probably distrubed when you had the manny off... |
