I called Squire's Auto Service this afternoon to ask if they'd be interested in working on my 1979 924 NA. Soon as I told the guy on the phone what I drive, he said "We don't work on those" and then he HUNG UP on me!

F them!

They guy's at Chris' German Auto Service, also in Bellevue sound a LOT more friendly. I'm going there.

Wow. That's a bit rude.

Although it reminds of when I bought my 924 and was calling around for insurance. Being relatively young, at least according to the insurance company, and wanting to insure one of those mythical beasts, a Porsche Turbo, the quotes were astronomical. But I clearly remember a woman at one of the companies just laughing at me! No kidding, she just laughed! Needless to say I got the message

squires also talks badly about the cars they have worked on. you dont want them working on your car anyway.

chris' german is really good, also fordahl motorsports does alot of 924/944, i would definately suggest fordahl for any suspension work. He sets up the winning cars in the 944 spec series and regularly autocrosses 944s.

Go look for someone who specialises in older European fuel injection. That's how I found the guy I use. The K-Jetronic system was used in a lot of other makes and models of similar vintage and if they're familiar with a late '70s Volvo or BMW, they'll be happy to work on your 924.

Wade.
