Hi
I have just finished replacing the turbo on my 1981 S2, (along with the cam belt and oil change etc, etc).
How do i prime the turbo with oil?
The haynes manual says 'remove the plugs from the manifold pressure switch', where is this located as the manual doesn't tell you ? |

I think they are referring to the boost switch on the upper pressure duct. That way you can crank the engine without it firing. Also remove plugs.

I just took the spark plugs out and cranked - it takes ages to get the pressure up in a fresh build. I thought it was going to burn out the starter. _________________ Pete |

Hi
thanks for the replies. I removed the plugs etc and cranked a 3 or 4 times for a number of seconds until the oil pressure moved up to 4 bar ish. The car started ok and no obvious blue smoke (although i didn't drive the car). Just got to sort the vibration which can be felt through the car at tickover , engine mounts, any ideas ? |
