I have totally fouled up this time.I was installing my front cross member(the part that bolts to the frame, that the a arms swing on).I have over torqued the nuts, stripping the threaded studs, and,or nuts. The nuts will not tighten or loosen, they just spin round, and round

I am so sick that this happened!! It's my fault for using air tools, and I'm so disappointed in myself!

Has anyone every had to replace,or maybe know how I could replace the studs?

Thats what I thought at first, which is just as heartbreaking, but no I put an open-end wrench on it,and watched the nut turn on the stud.

Thats great, and there are plenty of other easy ways for cutting off the stud. However, whats the best way to replace it? "it's all enclosed in the frame.

Cut it out and weld in a new piece. Take a breath, and get it done. No use to beat yourself now.

You're right, the show must go on! I refuse to let this project beat me!

I just finshed cutting the studs with my torch.I have plenty of things to work on before I get back to fixing that catastrophe!

Yesterday whilst grabbing a big electric drill with
a 1/2 exstension to chuck it up & stick sockets on
to remove lugnuts. I have a 3/8s one formy dewalt cordless.
I was thinking of this post there was another guy who did the
the same damage on a different part though.
