I want to install new rod bearings, are the rod bolts torque yield? I just purchased new bearings and realized maybe the rod bolts need replaced. Is it really need? I am doing this job with the engine in the car. _________________ 81 931 Always on Boost. |

Yes, rod bolts should be replaced. We just shipped 6 sets of the ARP replacements to EBS from our last group buy, so they should have some available. Call them (number is on ebsracing.com), ask foor Troy Chapman. If you don't mind, tell him Dan Beckett referred you. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Page 13-15 of the factory service manual says: "always replace" for the bolts and "replace" for the nuts. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Can the rod bolts be installed without taking the engine out/apart?
I've heard the rod bearings and nuts can be done by
dropping the oil pan -- but how about the bolts?
thanks,

I am self-funding a new round of production on these bolts. See details here: http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=41557 _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
