Would you class this as a turbo or a Carrera?

Actually, I agree with you. That's just an example of Aussie understatement...

I tend to agree...if they were orig CGT parts including the interior, I'd think $10-$15K at the top end of the range. But $27K? Nope.

I apologise for posting over old ground, I tend to agree with everyone elses price view regarding this car. A 924 CGT may be my next Porsche however I reached my ownership limit at the moment and I think I'd be chasing a clean example if I went that way.

Car has been relisted

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330412543041

Concerns me how much info he has here. Claiming to have a folder full of reciepts and service documents from Melbourne. Unless he has done a lot of research on it and got it from someone else, then he doesn't have these as I never had any documents for it, nothing. Was a sydney/NSW car its whole lifeI think.

Also claims to be recon engine and gearbox etc, well if he means it needs a reco gearbox he is right.
Is the original 924 turbo engine as far as I know. So just beware if you are thinking of bidding. I'd say what was bid last time is a fair price, though you'd need to budget a fair bit to get it up to good condition for the road.

Convenient that he recently lost that folder of receipts that you never gave him, and doesn't guarantee that he'll find them either.

Here are the relevant numbers on the car in question:
VIN WPOZZZ93ZBN100989
Eng # 31030806

If you know your numbers then you know this is a 924T

Hiya Rog. Looked at it last time!
Panel fit and finish is good. Interior is awful - worn, dirty, torn and mouldy. A few customary turbo oil leaks underneath. You can't take it for a drive - unregistered.
Has all the right GT gear BUT when all is said and done, it is a 924T body and it has a 924T motor!
Would love to know the real history of the car. Is it a very expensive clone/replica or is it a re-shelled GT, and then what about the engine number?
I wish the PO (Carris) was a little more forthcoming .

Bottom line - what's it worth? Whatever a top dollar 924T is bringing plus maybe 10% for the GT goodies. My opinion only!

Thanks mate for the PPI and report.

Was only remotely interested before and now not at all knowing the engine # and sus history.

So how much did he buy it for Carris?

hi guys,

also saw this car & I nearly bought this , in fact made an offer to the previous owner last time. deal fell through because bank would not lend me the money ( I will be fair to po - say between $10k & $15k), i required because they classified it as a 924T and this car was double/triple the price of a 924T. it was a fair & honest deal back then, it is now just badly overpriced, especially if he has done nothing to the car in the last 3 years. i should have bought it, ended up buying a 911 & got badly ripped off by a sydney specialist dealer, now gone & have a gti.

Yeah, sold for 13odd last time on ebay. As far as I know, and how I sold it. The orignal CGT parts, So the seats etc, and body kit, rear hatch, intercooler, wheels, came off a written off CGT, from sydney I believe, written off 1 year old. This was put on a turbo, and formed this car. Not sure how much of each car was used, but is a turbo engine number if you know how to read the numbers.
Recent question has been answered last full service just before he bought it. That is not true, who knows when it last had a factory type service, gearbox probably needs a reco, and the injection is okay, apart from the electronics which play up regulary, which is fairly normal on those.

If you of thinking of buying it be ready to pour a fair bit of money into it, I used it everday when I had it, but it has been sitting around for a long time and these cars degrade very quickly when not used.
If I wa going to buy it back, which i would think about around the 10K mark, i'd budget in agearboxrebuild, new clutch, turbo rebuild, clean up the electronics, sort out the interior(not cheap) and the front bar is pretty stuffed from previous accident damage(maybe to the original car)

The car in question (ex Carris) is now being hawked around to Ebay bidders for $16,500!!! Long way from original 26.5k reserve, then 22.5k reserve. Here's your chance Carris - reacquire it!
Methinks it's still a lot of cash for a 924T with admittedly some nice GT accessories.

Yeah still too rich at that price. I think what people were bidding is a good amount for it.
