Anyone look into the similarities of these turbos?

Has a similar 3 bolt flange, but is internally wastegated. How close is this flange to ours?

Looks way too small...but should be easy to figure out by ordering that gasket. Should be cheap, may be $5-6, so not a lot of expense to find out...

The k04s are supposed to be decent from what I've heard..

I was just thinking if these are similar we'd have some additional turbo options..

no..they are crap...cant deliver pressures much above stock...and therefore i think they cant deliver much flow...i think that they are ranked for 240-250HP..?

i know a guy with a 1.8T passat trying to run 1.x bar on that engine and the effect was simple, crap.
it put out 1.8 bar at 2500 rpm until 3500 or something...then it dropped to 0.6 or so at redline....so...very unlinear...the car was slow and it never did two identical 1/4mile times.

than perhaps we are not talking about the same turbine.
I'm talking about the factory turbocharger on the 1.8T VW/audi engines 150HP i think...

morghen, I am talking about that motor/turbo but an upgrade. I'm thinking if the stock one would fit, then an aftermarket one for that car should fit as well.

The 3-bolt flange is either too small, or that's about a 6" exhaust gasket shown in the first post.

Well the exhaust flange includes the internal wastegate.. so it is quite large.. Not sure what the exhaust inlet size is though..

Stock 1.8T turbo is called a K03, upgraded unit (from the 2.7tt RS4) is the K04 like Flosho is talking about
