Thanks for the info
Since I'm running higher boost, should I be running colder plugs? I'm currently running Bosch WR6DC+. _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD

You should not be running higher boost
Depends on the amount of power you're extracting...advance...how much detonation do you get right now...perhaps colder plugs will benefit.
Since I use the super cold W2CS and I overfuel the crap out of my car it starts a bit crappy when cold. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

How does it work, lower the number, colder the plug???
Would a "5" be just 1 step colder than a stock "6"? _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD

Depends on the plug maker, on bosch yes, the lower the number the colder.
As you can see below, the ones I use are Bosch's coldest. I think this is the limit for road going cars.

Depends on the boost level, fuel octane, ignition advance, EGT’s, AFR, compression ratio, how close you are to detonation, what colour/heat the current plugs are. A good tuner + dyno session will tell you. It’s one step in a number of steps in the Performance and tuning circle.
Im running NGK 10 to help reduce my EGT’s and reduce detonation at 1.2 bar. Plugs remain clean. It may not work in other motors as they are all different _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Got the wheels back from the painter.
Guy did a piss poor job in detail, meaning he covered no dimple...had the wheels sand blasted so every bit of corrosion was scooped out.
But from 2 feet away they look good and they will match the car's looks
Most staggered 16" phone dials I could get and fit under the 931 body.
I guess 8" rears could also fit but then the tires would not look the same front and rear...i'm looking for the same aspect and same tire and tire size front to rear.
Going to wait a couple more days for them to dry in the sun before mounting tires on them...not to ruin the lips...paint looks really good on them its a pitty the guy didn't take care about all those little imperfections.

Tried the new wheels on.
Perfect fitment on the rears, fronts need a bit of tweaking.
928 phones on the fronts, 951 on the rear.

Those wheels really fill out nicely! Tell me more about that late bay window T2 in the background though... |

Car looks naughty with that fittment, I like it as well.
Currently the fronts are on 35mm spacers which is a bit too much (has a bit of a poke)
I'll machine a pair of 21mm rear spacers to go on the fronts and then it will be perfect.
The T2 belongs to a guy who drives a ratty Volvo Amazon. The T2 has been restored metal wise and it awaits some work time _________________ https://www.the924.com |

Fronts are 16x7 et65, rears are 16x7 et23.
I use custom spacers front and rear to fit these wheels as they are seen on my car. No spacers or factory spacers will not work.
Tires are Toyo Proxes T1R 195/50/16 _________________ https://www.the924.com |
