before I took the switch assembly out, I identified the problem as the contacts being gapped too far apart. If I closed the two contacts for the "squirt&wipe" it worked fine.
I used a little contact gapping tool to get things a little closer, and used some electronic parts cleaner to help loosen up any dirt on the contacts, and when I put it in, it worked for a milisecond....
The delay, normal and fast wipe selections seem to work like normal, but I cannot get the wiper/fluid to work at all now, not even when I press the contacts together. Did I blow something in the wiper relay? Its old, and never been replaced.

probably not.
I had a problem with the intermittant not working, and the wash/wipe not working some of the time.
When I turned and indicated, the wipers came on one day, which makes me suspect the problem is in the stem/switch for the wipers. |

If the pump works when you remove the tubes from the pump then the check valves in the system are clogged. Cheap replacement. Remove them and your problems are solved. Avail from Porsche. Look for a Tee in the line and two others. Under the hood near the back of the hood. |

So I take it you replaced the switch assembly and everything was good again? |

Better yet, does anyone know which pins or wire colors to jumper on the harness to see if I can at least identify if it is the switch or not?
I think I have an idea, but I'd rather ask those who have tried. |
