To combat the depression of the latest Toyota Prius being launched, it might be helpful to look back at great muscle cars. Which are your faves and why?

My favorite muscle cars!
My neighbour had a 69 charger back in Lebanon. I loved Sundays just because he would start it up early in the morning and i can listen to the beautiful noise of that hemi engine Been around that car (and drooled over it) for 9 years! Too bad i didnt get a chance to drive it...
The Miura... just simply amazing _________________ 1977 Porsche 924

BMW 860
Because its not the 850 and I had one once and I loved it
AMG Hammer
Because I am also a child of the 1980's
And Finally
BMW M1 and Friends
Because I love all things (with wheels) German. Porsche first and then BMW and mercedes. But if we are talking muscle then some of the best pure muscle has come from BMW and Mercedes, Porsche is somehow more refined (except for the 928, which is just a silly amount of fun) _________________ 1977 924 2.0 Auto |

bmw M1 is so hot
There are so much great cars that I can't choose between them. I've got some books with unknown, less produced great cars... can stare at them forever _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)

My 80's power car wishlist's in ascending order:
80's cars I want/hope to own:
Porsche 928
Because it's the ultimate affordable and practical GT car with supercar handling.
A simply magnificent V8 engine with loads of power (and potential) placed in a very capable chassis. Probably one of the must underrated supercars, and almost anyone can afford one.
I used to dream about 928's as a teenager and where drawing them during school hours. You could say I was destined to have one, and finally I do
Ferrari 308/328
Want one badly, why? Ferrrrraaari.... 80's... Magnum PI..., need I say more?
The price level is achievable, and especially the more "mechanical" 308 could be possible to maintain at a reasonable cost level.
Porsche 911 Turbo
Beacause it's the ultimate 911 icon. But it has to be red and from 1986, I don't know why, I just know that's what I want
Porsche 944 Turbo
A 924 with supercar performance. probably the cheapest performance car around.
Porsche 924 Carrera GT
You all know why
Audi Quattro (Turbo)
A very funcitonal all-round car. That 5-cyl engine has a sweet song, and it also has loads of tuning potential.
The 4WD makes it very attractive as a winter sportscar, especially here in Scandinavia where we have long winters.
It's sad that Porsche turned down the offer from Audi to use the 5-cyl engine in the 924. it's a great motor with way more potential, maybe that was what the Porsche engeneers was afraid of...
80's cars I only can dream about, unless I win the big lottery
Porsche 959
Lamborghini Countach
Ferrari 288 GTO
Ferrari Testarossa
Ferrari 512BB
Ruf CTR "Yellowbird"
Sorry, but no American cars on my lists... _________________ 1982 Porsche 924 na My 924 blog

The 1967 ford GT40 MKII 210mph in 1967, this was the greatest car that ford ever built in my opinion, one of the greatest American machines ever made. And at top speed got 6mpg talk about combating the oil issue.
