With no reliable car for her to take to work i had to do something. I wasn't about to buy her a POS. I gave her my ZX2 as her new daily.

So i bought this for my daily. I couldn't help it.

Is that a 944 or a 924 remake? Either way, looks like a fun daily. And its obvious the Porsche bug has gotten ahold of you something severe

For the sake of a driver's car i really still love the 924 MORE. I do like some of the stuff though, it's nice to have power everything back for a daily. The 924 is still more "fun factor" though.

By the way, does anyone know if the "miles per gallon" gauge is accurate? I noticed that before i got home and thought "Oh thats cool... if it's accurate."

A 951 nose would look pretty nice on that

Nice buy, when was the last time the timing belt was changed?

Typically, the MPG gauges calculate that based off the injector duty cycle straight from the computer. So unless your injectors are completely buggered it is probably fairly accurate.

The guy was not sure, so that is going to be one of the first things I do. It's mechanically sound but i'm not taking ANY CHANCES. I hear these have a horrible reputation of grenading if the timing belt snaps. It's at almost 200k miles.

Sweet deal on knowing the mpg is accurate. Now if only there was a way to get it to put in less effort in 5th.

"a way to get it to put in less effort in 5th"

If you mean the gearshift is hard to get into fith gear position that is an easy fix usually. The MPG guage is roughly accurate. More of a gizmo than anything else.

Oh yeah, this is going to make me unpopular around here, but once you get a 944 you probably will end up driving and liking it better than any 924. Sports cars are by definition wide and low, so the wider and lower they are the better they fill the niche I think. 944 body is sexier anyhow. Porsche thought so too. Oh shit here comes the hailstorm of nae nae nae!!!

I just meant as in getting a bit more power to the wheels. It's not gutless, but it's not powerful either.

After 4 hours of doing some karate kid type waxing... i finally got the car much better. This paint was oxidized like a mofo. Wax on wax off dani-san.

Just so you have an idea. Here's a pic of the hood before. Note that up towards the corner by the window you can see where i waxed. And where the shoplight is hanging you can see the worn oxidized paint... big difference.

Little elbowgrease.
