My 964 seats (which are identical to late 944 seats) have a wiring loom with three wires, red, brown and black.
I dont want to wire the seats in the car, but would like to put them in the lowest position by connecting a battery, but how?
I recall that it was somehow possible to manually wind down the seats?

Duncan,
There sould be 2 multi-connectors, the smaller one is just for the seatbelt warning light on the dash (ovalash 944 models). The larger one is conected to the 2 motors that control tilt and height. There should be more than 3 wires, more like 6 and some are purple. Anyway, I have a few sets of these seats that i can practice a "direct battery control procedure" on if you like...
A word of warning (if needed), if fitted to a 924/31 i would'nt use the seatbelt retainer that is integral to these seats. The reason being is that on late model 944's the seats are bolted in using 6 allen cap srews. I cant remember the exact size they are much beefier than the 4 bolts used on the 924 for obvious reasons. |

Thanks,
Others already warned me about the seat belt retainers. Will surely do that!
