well its been awhile since ive updated you guys
but i guess there really isnt that much to update you on

i finally got my new transaxle put in

i finally got my hands on a cherry picker so today and dropped my engine in to see how it fits

i discovered that im goin to have to either cut the cross member for the front suspension or im goin to have to cut up the the oil pan
id really rather do some surgery on my oil pan but the oil sump is in the middle of the pan so id have to try to move the sump toward the rear

idk what im goin to do yet ill have to figure it out next weekend

well didnt get much done this weekend but i did get to sit the engine in the car

i found that im goin to have to notch my cross member and move my rack down
thats along with chopin my oil pan

but it looks like the engine will sit in there nicely

had to give the cherry picker back to its owner so didn't get much done

hopefully i can get it back soon

Been a few years for me moding the L-67's but.......

You might try a pan from a V6 F body, I think it is a different sump pan. Guess you would also need the pump pickup.
Might get the exhaust manifolds also.

FWIW the F body automatic will work with the L-67, even "plug in" and will work with the L 67 PCM.

There is a Aussi blower adapter that will turn the intake about 90 deg, but last time I checked they were $$$ (the L-67 is used RWD there).

The PCM (computer) will be the hard part of your swap- but there are great programmers available now . While this engine is very strong, a bad tune will kill it VERY quick.

IIRC a stock L-67 will put out 190 whp and 280 wftlbs. Mine with minor mods did 230 and 360. (intake, exhaust and 3.5" pulley)
The factory intake is the big killer 15- 20 whp.

what do you mean by intake
like the air filter and piping
or the actual intake manifold
if its the filter and tubing thats not a prob
but if its the intake manifold what did you do to make it better

well i finally got my motor stuck in the car
it looked rite at home in the engine bay

so far ive cut my stock 3800 oil pan and my buddy is welding it up
i had to cut about a 1.25 inch notch out of the cross member between the mounts for the rack

ive also found out that my factory brakes arent goin to work
theres not enough room for the booster

does anyone have an idea for what to do for brakes
im thinkin ill just have to convert to manual brakes
im thinkin about takin a master cylinder from a 3/4 ton chevy pickup
i figure that will have push enough fluid to stop 3038 lb car

im still goin to have to cut fire wall for the throtle body
its goin to be a wear a coat and roll down the window car(no heater no ac)

ive found that the passenger side motor mount is goin to be a breeze
the drivers side is goin to be a bitch and a half cause the steering connects to the rack rite were my engine needs to bolt to the cross member

ive got a question about the motor mounts
should i have them connect them to the body or the crossmember

I have manual brakes - I used the 944 brakes that stop the car really good! They positioned the brake pedal pivot differently so the brakes still work excellent!

You could try this:

http://www.porschehybrids.com/gallery/album29

It doesn't take any more space than the master cylinder and looks factory.

Great conversion, I was thinking of doing this to a 944. What is the hood clearance like?

You better find a hood scoop that's what hood clearance is like. The altenator supercharger and the coil packs stick up past the hood
