Hahahahaha someone was smacked a little too hard as a child
PORSCHEV maybe you should ask people such as macb....bumblebee...etc who have actually seen the install and im sure theyll tell you that you could lift the whole car up by my "FLIMSY" intercooler setup.
And where did you get the whole idea of me using "GLUE" from?? Maybe your literary skills arent up to scratch but from what i remember i distinctly said POR15 for rust prevention...NOT as a means of gluing an intercooler in place
P.s correct me if im wrong but all this hate has come up the same day i recommended that PORSCHEV should use high temp engine paint instead of normal car paint on a block. Looks to me like the little comment hit a nerve and all of a sudden its hunt Scorpio day

Hats off to you for trying such a big project with very little for tools and skills. But ..if your going to make such Huge mods at least get your self a welder FFS. They are cheap these days. Self tapping screws and pop rivets are for unskilled wannabee's. If you would have done what you did with sheet metal and welded all in place. then took the time to clean it up and paint it and make it look good it would be different.
You can't brush on excessive amounts of "POR15" just because it has POR doesn't mean it was MADE for a PORsche '
Your heart is in the right place but you and I both know you won't be happy with the end results and you'll wish you would have done a better job. I have spent thousands of hours on my car and I wish I had done many parts differently. _________________ 1976 924

I forgot what set the rant off in my head ...it was because you called it the "ULTIMATE" Take that word out and I would have left it alone. _________________ 1976 924

see thats the kind of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism we need.
Yes it wasnt done perfectly but IMHO it was done more than sufficiently to make me happy

Theres always gonna be a BETTER way to do it...but sometimes you just have to settle with what youve got and what youve done...

Good job on spraying it all shinny black to hide how Crappy it looks!!
It's NOT a good how to ..IT is however a great how NOT to. |
I have a strong suspicion that PORSCHEV watches "American Idol"

I do watch it actually. Simon rarely misdirects his brutal honesty. Could I have sugar coated my response? Yes......yes I could have.
I get negitive feeback all the time on some of my projects and mods...some positive. Thats just life. If some of you guys think that the work scorpio did is "ultimate" quality work..well great.
Sometimes I have bottle or 3 of truth serum...so it's really not my fault

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....
Bruni Bruni Bruni
When i see your name gracing the section of the "How tos" then i might take you seriously, untill then your 90 something post is hardly a CONTRIBUTION to the board... go spam some other forum
No wonder why the how to section is sooo sparse...people are scared of posting for fear of getting shut down by members who havent given any POSITIVE contribution. We need an ebay positive feedback system
By all means go do it the ULTIMATE way... spend weeks CADing it up , have the space professionally cut out to tight tolerances....use stainless steel brackets...heck even go titanium for the sake of it being the ULTIMATE!.. Tig weld everything in.......Then ask yourself why you spent two months and more than the cars worth installing a 951 intercooler ..
I dont know about you but every day i spend working to PRESERVE my 924 could be spent working and actually making money. Sub-Projects are relative to the value of the overall project, There are time and budget restrictions.
Say my day is worth $200 then this install cost me $200 of lost work. Now say your day is worth the same (sorry i realise you professional engineers obviously working for nasa get more) and for some reason it only takes you two weeks instead of two months (because youve got the "skills" and no how). That makes you $2800 poorer for the sake of an ULTIMATE 951 install on a car worth a fraction of that. Which in my books makes you one very stupid engineer that Nasa should have fired years ago for blowing budget
My intercooler is bolted to the car, and can take any air flow force ide ever encounter..
Its functional
Joints and connections are all rust proof.
Will hardly be seen under the header panel
And took me the better part of 1 Day
Now for those with "LITTLE MAN SYNDROME" that dont like the word ULTIMATE, I APOLOGISE , by all means POST IN THE "HOW TO" a REAL ULTIMATE guide so that i may remove mine
Its easier to "type" about how bad it is then it is to go out and get your hands dirty actually doing it.

I spent ALL day making my licensce plate bracket to fit my custom rear valance panlel. I will be 2 more days until I get it complete.
So @ $200.00 per day it will have cost me $600.00 to build it. Plus materials and paint. Shit i think I am over budget!!!
NO No I never get my hands dirty. I am a pretty model....look at meeee _________________ 1976 924

Jeez you guys, quit it. It's like watching a couple of women.
Scorpio, your intercooler install works but is a little agricultural... next time, less aluminium and self tappers more steel and M10 bolts.
PORSCHEV, your critisicsm is hardly constructive. _________________ 1979 931 with a 350 chev
