I'll be in Calgary on Monday-Wednesday 28-30 July. I'm flying in so I won't have a p-car, but Monday night looks best for a potential GTG if anyone is interested. Also, might be an opportunity to bring some parts north of the border if anyone is in need of anything that can be packed in a checkable piece of luggage. Let me know!!! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Funnily enough I don't think there are any board members in Calgary. Its slightly larger than Edmonton, I think 1.5 million to our 1.3 million (including surrounding suburbs for both) so you'd think there would be someone there.
You're actually in Calgary sort of in a dead zone for events. The Stampede is in early July, the Folk Music Fest is the week before you are there.
The Rides 'n' Rods car show is a pretty big event, happens on July 27, but it looks like you'll just miss that.
If you're downtown you'll have no trouble amusing yourself, even if its only getting drunk in one of the many bars with oil execs. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

Seeing as how we're meeting with some of them, that seems pretty likely at this point
Rather be out and about, but we'll see what happens... _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I second Chrenan's thoughts, I've not seen any 'board members hailing from Calgary..?
A little OT but... I've only been to Calgary once, and only for two days. Nice enough place, I 'spose, but we were in meetings and on site most of the time, so didn't get to see much. But the coolest thing that happened in Calgary? We were passed by a Maserati MC12 on the highway! And it was m o v i n g! I literally did the classic double-take Like, what the..?!
I think it's 17th Avenue that has all the pubs and restaurants? Found an English-style pub there that had terrible food but good beer, music and general atmosphere. It was pretty big but I can't remember the name of it..? _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Given Calgary's identity, why not try a 911 board? _________________ '84 944 - kid blew motor

A lot of the super car owners (and there are a lot) from Calgary hang out on the Canada forum at http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/.
The money down there amazes me, I've seen that MC12 in Calgary, and also an Enzo, Quatroporte, Contintental GT, many, many new Lambos and Ferraris. The list goes on.
Edmonton has a few too, I was behind an F430 convertible on the way to the office this morning. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

And I thought the Yanks had too much money Vancouver reminds me of Monaco (or at least, what I imagine Monaco is like) that way... I've seen Ferraris and Bentleys -new Ferraris and Bentleys -in my local Safeway supermarket carpark On more than one occasion, I kid you not. I'm working downtown just now and, seriously, not a day goes by that I don't see a 997 Turbo, F430, Gallardo, Continental GT, M-cars, etc, etc, come screaming by...
But the MC12 was out of the ordinary. As was the Carrera GT I saw parked outside a café up the road here. Oh, and the black Murciélago skulking through Richmond yesterday.
Way too much money here... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Yeah, I've been working in downtown Edmonton since 2000. The last 3 or 4 years especially things like new 911 Turbos are common place. The oil boom in Alberta is starting to show in terms of consumer consumption, that is for sure. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

My guess is with a law background finding employment wouldn't be too hard. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |
