For those of you who would consider a 2.5 944 engine in their 924.

why bother, 944s don't have that much more pep, 0-60 in 9 seconds, they are about 5 times more expensive to repair...put a rover in it for christ sake

yeah, if you over rev it, if it is tuned, if you have a light driver in it, if you forget to shift, if you are highly optomistic and have a biased opinion, if you have a 944 engine in your car and want to protect it.

Most road and track tests claim 9.0.

I always read from the original R&T and other magazines it was 8.5...

yeah, I seen some 7.8's as well....

Although the 924 was in range from 9.5 to 11.3 to 60...

And the Geo Metro TT/AWD was 3.4 to 60...
but that model never came out...

damn.

it's all about how high u rev it and what type of tires and wheels are on the car.

But if there is a lot of nonsense going around, then it's most likely not a fast 0-60 car...for example, you don't see corvettes getting times of 6-9 seconds, they are always around 6.

Whats the point in using the stock 944 motor? It wasn't really much better than the 924 engine. It had better tech, but they never put it use. Besides, it's not like the 944 motor has any good power in it.

Get a 944 turbo motor if you're going to swap. There is a ton of power in the turbo.

I have to agree with cbass go with a turbo mototr and set up a page showing the swap also has anyone ever tried to run a 911 turbo conversion in a 924/944, i think that would be kinda interesting, it puts out 420 bhp plus if they use the new angine it has the vario cam
