Ok...so..new weird thing.

i took the car for a 4 wheel alignment today and was very surpised to see that the rear arms could bearly get the toe into specs.

The issue is toe. there was a lot of negative toe. -35 to -40 to be more precise.
However the wheels looked perfect on the body. I had to hammer the arms to get the toe to 0. The issue is that normaly the nominal values have a +- where the nominal value for the toe in my case is unidimensional. I mean i cant get the toe to the positive side...ok maby 0.05 but not more. BUT...i can get a lot of negative toe. What do you guys think? what could cause this?

Could it be that the torsion bar carriers are different from the 924 to the 944 turbo? and the mountings of the rear arms are differently placed?

Toe in or toe out??

Toe in is good. Toe out is bad (in the back of the car).

http://www.blueriverfleet.com/align/alignm4.gif

i had lots of toe out.So the wheels were "steering" outwards.

The car has been lowerd using the torsion bars.
Now it sits at 0°.00¨ plus-minus 0°.05¨ but i had to move the wheels forward about 1cm. It was fairly hard to achieve these measurements(i had to hammer the arms into their position)...as i mentioned this is the limit...the wheels cannot go any further so i could not get toe in even if i wanted. What do you guys think? there is no sign of damage in the area...

What sort of spring plates do you have, Morghen?

From what I've learned, the overall distance from the end of the torsion bar to the wheel hub is what affects the toe angle the most...

yes, exactly thats what i said...i had to move the wheels 1cm to the front of the car, making the distance from the carrier to the hubs smaller.
The spring plates also come from a late edition 944. the 924 ones cant be used with alu arms.

yea...anyway...now that the car has 0 rear toe it tracks like its glued on the road...there is so much grip if the road is good...it never felt like that. I drove home from the mecanic ON BOOST so it was constant adrenaline for a few minutes
