is it possible to put a interior (dashboard,center console etc.) from a post 85 car into a pre 85 car. If it is possible, what kind of work is involved in doing this project. And what is the estimated cost after i have a parts car to take all the new parts out of.

Anyway, I think the dash is a big problem because you'll need to adapt the wiring for the dash into the old wiring. You will also need to figure out how to wire up the electric speedo, though there are mechanical to electric converters. I have read the sheet metal that the dash mounts to is different as well. You will also need the A/C components for the new dash, or figure out how to adapt the old one.

It's a lot of work, but nothing is impossible. If you enjoy a challange then you should go for it
