The starters problem was caused by the block connector on the back of the fusebox not being pushed all the way in (about 1mm of a gap)with brut force rammed it in that extra mm and hey presto the car starts and keeps on running.
The lights have been semi bodged, the left dimmer cable is live but the fullbeam cable is dead and the oposite on the right. I daisy changed each of the cables together for now, this means I can drive it in the nightime for the first time since I bought the car.
All thats left now is the cold start problem and its all sorted.

Looks like you took most of the seemingly unsolvable problems that made the previous owner sell, and knocked them off in good time. Good job, but beware...more gremlins await. When they appear, and you want more ideas to add to your own correct ones, drop a message on your favorite discussion group. For now, enjoy the success - drive by the previous owners house, honk the horn and give them one of them waves, royal style. |
