The engine mounts are all made now, and everything clears nicely (just!!). I've got to get the steering finished off this weekend, then I'll be able to get the certifier back around to ok the mounts. Once that's done I'll get the tunnel finished off and get some pictures!

I've got some bigger bridgeport housings for the engine now, so will have to rebuild that over the next couple of months.

Pics at last!

Now that the engine is out again, I can finish off the firewall.

It's alive!! .......well, almost!

Been driving up and down the street this weekend, but need to take it in to get tuned properly before I can get it street legal again.

I'm cutting it a bit fine as I have the week long Targa rally starting two weeks from today!

No time to get more pictures at the moment, but will put some up as soon as the car's finished.

Sounds good. I'll be working in the morning but playing with the car in the afternoon, so feel free to come around anytime. The last ignition parts arrived today so you might even be able to hear it running! I've got a new head gasket and a few other parts you can have for your car too.

I thought you were overseas at the moment?? PM or email me when you get a chance.

The car is now running properly and fully certified and road legal. Got a million and one things to do now before the Targa rally starts on Monday, but will give a full report and more photos when I get back on the 2nd.

Still sorting out the driveshaft failure at the moment (the engines out), but will try to put up an in stage video from the rally when I get a chance.

Slowly making progress. I'm now using the 944 driveshaft with a modified 4 puk clutch plate on a 944 centre. The torque tube was almost 1mm out of alignment with the bell housing, which explains the flogged out spigot bearing and bent drive shaft. I'm having the bellhousing machined to accept another driveshaft bearing at the moment to help take some of the load off the small Mazda spigot roller bearing. I'll post some photos as soon as I have it back from the engineer.

Andrew,

VERY nice work, should go well. Funny thing is i've often thought about this conversion, but with the later generation turbo rotary motor. How much bigger are the last gen motors compared to the 12A? Is it a feasible swap, or not worth considering?
