its pretty much just a free bulliten board. anyone can post whatever they want: stuff for sale, work needed, personals, chat... and there's usually a different one for everyr region. ive bought things off of there before. and posted jobs. _________________ -Jason

Be careful, buy local, demand an inspection before paying. Lots of Scammers on there trying to get people to send money.
Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
I was recently surfing car ads for Orange County CA, I emailed a question to a Seller about a VW Jetta. The Seller responded, claiming that he made me the Winner of a Private Auction on eBay when I asked about the car. I never even gave him my eBay Screen Name. The person claimed that the car was sitting at a Car Transport Company waiting for me to send the money so they could ship the car, and I would not be able to view it until it arrived.
I contacted Craigs List, and they responded that it was a scam they were aware of, but they never removed the original ad. |

yeah, the best thing that craigslist is good for is getting info, like a phone number or address, and then you do the transactions in person. _________________ -Jason

I bought a hydraulic jack for cheap - great, was brand new.
A car - not so great.
Phone dealings with people who wouldn't give VIN #, or reluctantly gave VIN but didn't disclose things like "salvage" or "theft recovery" which affect the price.
Be careful, is the best advice - there is good stuff there. |
