This upgrade uses 85-88 951 or non-M030 S2 brakes.
It requires that "5 lug upgrade" is already done.

1. Find a set of calipers, preferrably in very good condition. Clean them, paint them (if you want) and buy new pads of your choice of usage. I bought Ferodo DS Performance pads because I tend to go to the track and you never have too much brake power (well, almost).

2. Buy new rotors. If one can get used rotors in very good condition, fine, but prefer new ones since you want to upgrade your cars brakes, not otherwise. If stock 924/931 bodyshell is retained (no wheel arches etc), only rotors that fit, are from 1986 944 Turbo.
My friend used 1987- on 951 front rotors, that required either late style spindle/hub assembly (= you lose speedo cable hole) or turning down stock hub by some amount on the lathe to mount late style rotor. Since I haven't done it, I won't comment it more.

3. Rear brake assembly is bolt-on and no modification is needed. One may find that caliper bolts need washer as a spacer but I didn't use one.
Just remove stock caliper and old rotor, then install 951 units, and you're good to go. Dust shields work fine.

4. Fronts are more involved. Install rotors to the hubs, that is straight-forward job.
Then you need to fabricate adapters that connect caliper to spindle and it requires some machining skills. Thickness of the material is 11 mm. It's your call to mount caliper upper or lower from spindle bolts. I chose lower.
Arm that connects to steering ball joint has to be heated and bent by 5-7 mm's as thicker rotor would otherwise hit the ball joint. It will not hurt it's strength by any means and I consulted about it with professors from our technical university before I did it.
Dust-shields need to be custom made as any of the stock units won't fit with that caliper arrangement.

5. Put in new brake fluid. I used Ate Super Blue and it's the best I've used.

After bleeding the brakes, make proper bed-in process and enjoy the new stopping power and bling-bling factor

Alignment wouldn't be off with 951 spindles but you will have no speedo.

Bending the steering knuckle is nothing to be afraid of, because it's not made of some heat treated steel but usual forged iron. Before I did mine, I consulted with an engineer of material sciences from our technical university as I had concerns about the strength differences before and after and he said not to worry after examining the spindle.

Yes, 951 rear calipers bolt right on, you may need washers as a spacer. And obviously only with 951 rotor.
