been planning on getting a rover v8 into my 924 but it occured to me earlier that i have an dead alfa gtv6 in the garage..

has anyone tried putting an alfa v6 in a 924 ?

would it work ?

is it a heavy engine ?

im thinking it should be fairly easy to mate to the torque tube... although the bellhousing i have may not be suitable as the gtv6 has its clutch in the back with the transaxle..

i dont really know much about the alfa engine other than it sounds good, revs to 7k and makes 165bhp

any thoughts ?

all that work for an extra 40hp... seriously are you kidding?
think, toyota 4AGTE 1JZ, 2JZ, nissan RB30, lexus UZV8, these engines will give you 185RWkW + lots more potential

its just that i already have the engine/ancillaries, and they can make good power tuned as well as sound great

the v8 swap im contemplating will only give me ~190bhp anyway, unless i spend more than the car is worth on the engine.

the engine currently in there is shot, well, it runs, but the bores/pistons/rings are so shot its burned off 4 litres of oil in 2000 miles !

cant really be bothered to take it out/rebuild it/put it back in.. and have .. the same performance as before ! lol.

i'll look into the other engines you listed .. i have no experience or knowledge re japanese engines tbh.
