Tell him $1000 or your finding another glasser, those prices are ridiculous and he's taking you for a ride.
Fiberglass and resin prices are not expensive, these are things i've bought straight from a distributor and labour is the only factor that would be an issue.
so at $500 worth of parts for example ,you are paying 10 hours at $50/hour.
More than generous...
I would be surprised if either of these costs are being exceeded.
7"s and 8's, 9's at the rears with the right offset.

pm sent.....basically these guys are right....the same glasser had the 924 scoop on ebay a month ago for $240 obviously noone bought it. I instead decided to get a mustang scoop off a gold coast based glasser on ebay for $35 plus $20 delivery. he does these mustang scoops straight from the moulds...they are larger then the 924 ones so therefore use more fibreglass... the question is.....If a glasser is happy to do a larger scoop for $35 then where does the other $210 come from for the scoop from the current glasser?....the answer.....he knows its for PORSCHE and sees dollars... so lets help alan out as this shouldnt all be on him, he is infact trying to help all us aussies get good bodykits for our 924's and has taken it upon himself to do it , does anyone know any good priced glassers in brisbane??...iv e offered to email the guy that did the mustang scoop to see what he can do for the whole kit..... any other suggestions? _________________ 1979 NA

I think that it costs more because looking at the final product there is a line left in the part. this means that is it a 2 piece mold and likely takes more time to make. Don't be fooled by the size...it wouls be the time to make the part that raises the cost.
On the other hand I can't see it taking THAT long. _________________ 1976 924

I thought about hood scoops on my cars but at the price they are selling them I think is crazy. Would I look for alternates....... yes but I have not do so yet.
If you buy a scoop that does not fit you can make it fit. For the $35 spoken of you can buy quite a few and trash them if you make a mistake. Fiberglass and bondo are not difficult to work with. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

I have got him down to $1800 AUD
2 kits are now ready
When I have the molds back I will shop them around to see if i can get a better price.

I think some of the prices are a bit high - I get the front and rear bars (bumpers in NZ Speak) made for around the NZ$ 200 mark, bonnets (hood) for NZ$ 250, the clip on rear fenders cost around NZ$ 200 to NZ$ 250 - but are single skin whereas yours look like double skin things, I don't do front fenders as it cheaper to buy 944 fenders –NZ$ 250 for a good steel one, the front fenders when I did make them were a real pain as you had to make the fender itself, then the panel that fixes the fender to the A pillar, trim this panel, glass it into the fender itself - this is where the cost comes for the front fenders so I reckon $450 for the fronts is OK.
I assume the front bar includes the wrap around spoiler assembly if so then it's a good price, second hand 44 units are more than that over here.

The 944 assembly is not the correct CGT part - the CGT front is a one piece unit with the bumper included, whereas the early 944 which looks similar to the CGT is a two piece - bumper and spolier assembly with a gap between the bumper and the spoiler. _________________ Remember a Porsche is not just for Christmas,

The "kit" is going into the spray shop to be painted.
Havent had time to shop the molds around yet
Did someone here in Aus have a neighbour that was a fibreglaser ??

Yup, moi. In fact my neighbours son - don't see em very often. Will try track em down this week, otherwise will be a couple of weeks - I'm off to India for work again on Sunday...

7" in front
8" in rear or 9"'s if your lucky... best to do the flares first, then match the rims to them, save you buying the wrong set,
go to one of the mag wheel shops and try on a few different sized rims to find the right offset, then go shopping for a rim with the right look...
One of the rennlist guys on the drive day RC and I went on had some 17" or 18" deep dish cup rims on his 951 and they looked hot. think they were 8" + 9" though....

check out the ZE forged rims, They looked like boost/shifter can remember how many spokes they had...
